New Planet Energy has secured an option to acquire a strategic location on a 41 acre remediated brownfield site in Stony Point, Rockland County, New York, approximately 40 miles north of New York City.  The site is bisected by a CSX rail line and is just a quarter mile from the Hudson River.

New Planet has completed its Scoping process and has submitted its Environmental Impact Study and Economic Impact Study to the NYDEC for review.  The NYDEC permitting process is for a 4,500 tons per day of MSW to be processed, recycled and converted into a Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF) with an 85% diversion rate. The SRF is an EPA certified alternative fuel that can replace fossil fuels used in Power Plants, Paper Mills, Cement Kilns and Industrial boilers.

Phase II of the New Planet Energy project will be a gasification system that will use the SRF as a feedstock to produce a renewable energy.
