Richard d’Abo (Chairman): Richard is a Co-Founder of NPE. His early backing was responsible for securing the Vero Beach site for NPE’s initial project in Florida. Richard’s strategic business and financial counsel has proven invaluable for NPE. Richard is a partner in the private equity firm The Yucaipa Companies in Los Angeles, California. Richard is Chairman of Eimskip, a publicly traded Icelandic shipping company, and a trustee of Americold Realty Trust, a privately owned REIT, which is the largest cold storage company in the world.
Jay Johnson (Vice Chairman):Jay Johnson is a business owner and entrepreneur based in Springfield, Illinois. After graduating magna cum laude with Honors in Finance from Illinois State University in 1990, Johnson began his professional career at the First Chicago Corp in Chicago. Jay has since founded an insurance agency, hedge fund, agricultural grain company, and a communications company. Jay served as President of Johnson Grain, LLC from it inception in 2003 until its merger with The Scoular Company in 2010. Jay serves as Board Chairman of Homewav, LLC and Johnson Risk Management, LLC. Ryan Bird ( CEO ): Ryan began his Waste/Recycling career over 20 years ago with Waste Management after getting his start as an auditor with Arthur Anderson. Ryan held numerous senior management roles with IESI and with Progressive Waste in the New York City area after the acquisition. Ryan's lead management team received numerous coveted "Best in Class" awards. Ryan received his B.S. Accounting from Brigham Young University.
John Cruikshank (President):John is a Co-Founder of NPE. Since 2001, John has focused exclusively in the environmental fields of waste management and renewable energy. John’s strength is in business development. He leads NPE’s efforts to site new project opportunities, develop and manage critical relationships with communities, as well as with political and regulatory leaders, and effectively oversee the permitting and development process. John received his B.A. in Business and Marketing from Loyola Marymount University.
John Schultz (Chief Operating Officer): John brings more than 33 years in the waste/recycling business. Holding numerous positions in Operations Mgmt, Brokerage and Mill Procurement. Previously with CP Group and Republic Services, John started his career with Smurfit Recycling. A graduate of Western Illinois University BA in Business and University of Pennsylvania- Wharton School MBA.
Charles “Charley” Dargan (Chief Financial Officer): As CFO, Charley is responsible for managing the accounting, finance and budgeting of NPE. Charley brings 30-plus years of investment banking and securities experience and hands-on experience guiding and preparing early-stage companies for significant growth and capital market transactions.
George Bauer(Corporate Secretary) :George is an Corporate Client Director in Alexandria, Virginia. He has over 32 years of experience in the finance industry. George graduated with Honors and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society, with a BA in Biochemistry and a BS in Molecular Genetics from the University of Texas at Austin.
